Drug dealer Jake Wallace jailed

While executing a drugs warrant in West View, Hastings, in October last year police seized quantities of cannabis, cocaine and cash which led to 19-year-old occupant Jake Wallace being charged with possessing class A and B drugs with intent to supply. On 12 June Wallace, unemployed, appeared at Lewes Crown Court and admitted the offences. He was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £140. Scott Starr jailed following string of thefts in Hastings

A prolific thief who stole items including face masks, clothing and an Easter egg has been jailed. Scott Starr has been convicted of three separate incidents which occurred in Hastings since the beginning of the year. On 7 January, he was captured on CCTV stealing four grey coats from Debenhams in Robertson Street. On 17 April, he was captured on CCTV stealing face masks from The Body Shop in Station Road. Kevin Kembry, 48, of Queens Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to stealing a pair of training shoes, from £49.50, from Marks and Spencers in Hastings on 2 January 2019. He was given a one year conditional discharge.

Sussex Police seeking help with spate of motorcycle thefts

The local police are repeating a call for information concerning thefts or attempted thefts of motorbikes and mopeds in Hastings and St Leonards. Anyone who sees anything suspicious, who recovers their stolen property or who may have mobile phone images, dash-cam or CCTV footage regarding such crimes is urged to contact police immediately. Shop and pub staff asked to report misuse of Vanilla credit cards

Police are keen to hear from shops or pubs in the area who may have been defrauded by the use of invalid Vanilla Mastercards. Officers know of four incidents so far. Prolific shoplifter John Larkin jailed and issued with two-year criminal behaviour order

Prolific St Leonards-on-Sea shoplifter John Nicholas William Larkin has been jailed for 180 days – six months – and made the subject of a criminal behaviour order for two years. Larkin has been the subject of numerous Hastings BCRP Shopwatch exclusion notices following his activities in town and as a result is already banned from all member premises. Joel Elmslie pleads guilty to shoplifting charges

Joel Elmslie, 38, of Berlin Road, Hastings, indicated a plea of guilty to stealing a North Face gilet, worth £140 from Millets in Hastings on November 18 and a jacket, worth £140, from the same store on November 17 last year.
